Project overview
Superb Electric LLC served as the general electrical contractor for SEG Solar 2, a 480,000-square-foot, 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility built from the ground up in Texas. Under a $15 million electrical contract, our team handled the plant's entire power infrastructure — design, planning, and installation — including six 3,000 kVA transformers, each feeding a dedicated 4,000-amp main distribution panel, distributing power through 32 subpanel locations to energize more than 400 pieces of production-line equipment.
A core challenge was reconciling two electrical standards on one site: the building's infrastructure was designed to U.S. code, while the majority of the manufacturing equipment was sourced from China and built to Chinese voltage and electrical standards. Led by a licensed Master Electrician, Superb Electric designed the transition and distribution systems needed to safely and reliably integrate the imported equipment into a U.S.-standard electrical system — without compromising code compliance or production uptime.
The full scope was completed in three months, at times fielding 38 licensed electricians working 12-hour shifts, seven days a week, under Superb Electric's direct safety supervision, with zero accidents recorded across the project. The job finished on schedule and on budget, and Superb Electric was recognized on-site as the project's top-performing subcontractor, featured in SEG Solar's internal company publication, the SEG Newsletter.
